Old Timers

The bar looks small from the outside but it's really not too bad. The patrons are a nice mix of generations and they like to joke around with each other but there is minimum drama.

Old Timers boasts a great atmosphere with great service. There's plenty to do with darts and billiards to keep busy as well as a great menu. It's also conveniently located next to Dairy Queen if you get an itching for a little something sweet after the kitchens are closed. The only complaint I really have about the bar is the size and cleanliness of their bathrooms; it's like taking a step back in time and feels like your almost in an old outhouse. The stalls are small and barely stay closed with a hook latch and it might be a good idea to put a good layer of paper on the seats before you sit.

The bartenders are fantastic, Kelly, 43, loves to make the Red Headed Slut (mixed drink) and the Sweet Tight Pussy (shot). Both of which are fabulous drinks. The tenders are also more than willing to learn from the patrons on how to make a drink if they don't know.

If you're going out for a good time this is a great place to go! The service is superb and the place is fun for anyone from any walk of life.

Karaoke Sondra

Sondra has been a karaoke DJ for many years and knows how to treat her crowd. She is fun and lively and has a unique choice in music for herself, she'll always throw you for a loop when she gets up to sing herself and its very entertaining. Karaoke is all about fun and she knows how to dish it out. Sondra is friendly and likes to crack jokes with her veteran patrons and the costumers are more than happy to cheer you on even if you aren't as good as others, it just doesn't matter to anyone there if you sound like a whining bear or like (insert your favorite artist here) because you'll get cheered on like you were Hannah Montana. She started being a DJ when her ex-husband started his business and she fell in love with it, eventually going out on her own. She has an impressive collection of over 200,000 songs and she loves to have fun when she's not at her 9 - 5 job.

I've heard better singers at other bars but these guys seem to like what they do even if they are tone-deaf, but, like at any other bar, there are a few that stand out. If you're looking for eye-candy in a local pub there are one or two pieces you might like to see here.

Sondra has gone electronic and has her songs on a computer to better manage songs. This makes the entire experience a whole lot better because the lyrics screen doesn't mess up as often though it does seem to mess up a little when people walk a little close to it and the floor shifts. The books are a little hard to read if you try to look up a song by its title so make sure you find the book listed by artist. That has to be my only complaint.

The Office

The Office is lively but a bit on the smaller side, though it's larger than what it appears on the outside. The patrons of a younger generation and they have pool tables in the back but they don't the dart boards one would normally find in a bar.

The owners are very guarded about their bar and don't seem to tolerate people asking questions of their guests. While doing a little research for this blog I was asking different people questions about karaoke and was asked to leave without being able to give an explanation of what I was doing. They told me that it was bothering their customers, though the ones that I talked to didn't seem to mind that I was there at all.

The bartender, Tara, 23, makes a killer Bomb Pop drink which actually tastes like the popsicle in which it gets its name and even floats a red, white, and blue look. The drink itself will knock you on your butt if given the opportunity to drink enough depending on your tolerance.

Patrons are especially nice but seem to be a little on the uptight side if they aren't drinking and most of the men tend to gather around the bar while the women sit at the tables. The patrons like to dance and groove on the dance floor which is stationed right under the small stage platform.

The different activities that you can join in are Cardinal Baseball Thursday day games with free food and beer specials.
Wednesday nights are twofers for women.

Stage Stars Karaoke

Steve is a fantastic DJ invoking loyal patrons to his four nights a week at The Office. However, being impressed may be hard. Steve is an okay singer but he's a great DJ and loves his work. He's a huge fan of Tracy Byrd and can sing those songs perfects, however when singing other things he completely lacks. You'll get plenty of time to sing if you show up on a week night because not many people are out and about.

The patrons that attend his regular karaoke are  mediocre at best with a few shining stars mixed in. One in particular really stood out and if I would have to believe that Elvis is alive I would have to admit that he is living in Missouri and goes to karaoke at The Office. The rest of the patrons that sang weren't very good at all but they were very encouraging to everyone that participated. Another singer that stood out to me was a little old woman, she sounded horrible but she made me chuckle to myself a lot because she was just so funny about her performance and she seemed to really be having a great time.

If you plan on going more than once you might like it here, but for those that are just out to have a little fun I wouldn't even bother for there are many other places to go on a Monday, Wednesday, Friday or Saturday night.

Seansie's Irish Pub & Grubb

This bar is a friendly place to hang out and they always have events going on. It's an authentic Irish Pub, which is not as common as one might think. They serve the best of foods including their signature dishes and are priced $9.00 and under. They make the most fantastic Rueben sandwich.

The main bartender, Sherrie, 33, makes her signature drink called the Miami Melon for only $4.00. Most drinks are $3.00 - $4.00 and the tenders know how to make over 200 drinks and shots.

Karaoke night is Wednesday with Dave's Karaoke and you'll have an entire section to yourself though you do have to battle with the dart and billiard tournament players who don't particularly like karaoke being there because they feel it interferes with their experience. It can get busy on certain nights because of the different tournaments that are always going on but there are other nights to attend if you don't want to go to karaoke.

They have things going on such as trivia nights, tournament nights (which you can sign up with all the information provided at Seansie's), they are willing to sponsor a soft ball team, and advertise their other events on the walls of the bar.

If you're just out for karaoke or you're out with your family you can always check out their menu and sit back in a relaxing atmosphere for a little bit of that Irish culture and a whole lot of fun.

Dave's Karaoke Profile

Nick and Dave have been karaoke DJs for several years, brought into it because of their love for music and thought it would be a great way to earn a little extra money. Dave was able to purchase the equipment from a friend and they were able to get on their way to being what could be the coolest DJs around the North County area.

They have a collection of over 12,000 songs ranging from Oldies to Goodies, Country to Rock, and everything in between. Nick boasts proudly that there isn't many songs they don't have and they knw the lyrics to almost all of them as well.

Dave's Karaoke also ventures out doing other events such as weddings, proms, graduations, and private parties for a very low fee of $400.00 that you can't beat if you're looking for a great company to get your guests up, dancing, and laughing the entire night.

Dave, 32, works as a general manager for a parts company during the day and enjoys relaxing and swimming in his pool when he gets the chance. He's a man of few words but knows how to bring the crowd alive and get them singing either on stage themselves or when he gets his chance to belt out the lyrics. Dave is a fantastic singer and would have gone all the way on American Idol if he hadn't gotten turned down because of his age. The man is amazingly talented and knows how to make everyone fit in, but that is just his personality. His friends and some patrons call him "Giggles" because of his infectious laugh and he tells me that one thing you would never know from looking at him is that he's adopted.

Nick, 28, is a substitute teacher for Hazelwood School District and is also a fantastic singer. He has a charisma and energy about him that you rarely find anywhere else. He can go from doing a slow song that will have you dancing with the one you love to shaking on the dance floor to the "Cupid Shuffle". Nick also knows every dance song and the dance to go with it that has been done in the past 20 years! He enjoys doing karaoke because he loves to sing and because it's fun and entertaining. he says that he enjoys the entertainment aspect of it more than anything. "I try to challenge myself," he says and he enjoys doing a lot of different things as long as he can put 100% into it. Nick likes to do scrap booking when he has the time and hanging out with friends. He spends springs in Union, MO choreographing their musicals. So far he has choreographed three musicals including: High School Musical, Peter Pan and Honk. During the summer he's a director for the City of Florissant's summer day camp. He has also designed a website for the City of Breckenridge Hills. "I love everything I do and wouldn't do it if I didn't love it!"

You can find Dave's Karaoke at Seansie's on Wednesday nights from 8 p.m. - 12 a.m. and at Ellen's on Saturday nights from 9 p.m. - 1 a.m. They have events coming up such as trivia nights, weddings, a graduation, and a prom. They get booked up quickly so if you want to have some fun make sure to give them a call at 314-800-5009.
